Bios
Rochelle L D Zemlak, AKBD
Founder and owner of Rochelle Lynne Design, Rochelle LD Zemlak has worked in the interior design profession for over 11 years. She studied Fine Arts, Fashion Design, Spatial Land Analysis & Cartography at The International Academy of Design in Toronto, and Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC before marrying into a construction family and settling in Alberta. With the experience she gained from working in Theatrical Set Design, Home Decor merchandise production, freelance artistry/graphic design, Rochelle went on to pursue a number of different projects including designing and building several houses with her husband, Mark. This eventually led to friends, neighbours & a local home builder enlisting her to help them design projects, and subsequently, in 1998 she was encouraged to start up her own interior design business. In 2002 Rochelle, Mark and their 3 girls moved to Cochrane Alberta where they now operate their design firm. Throughout her career in design, Rochelle has worked on varied projects including luxury homes, multi-family complexes, and retail & hospitality environments. She  has also taught classes in faux finishing techniques for professional applicators, was a technical consultant to a faux finish product manufacturer, and has given numerous classes and seminars on various topics related to interior design. Having a keen interest in the design of numerous kitchens and baths, Rochelle was compelled to become a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association in 2005. Since then, she has spent the past two years as the VP of Government Relations with the Prairie Provinces chapter, has achieved her AKBD status, and is currently planning to write her CKD/CBD exams in the next year. Rochelle relates her distinctive style and design success to her numerous years of fine arts & design training, love of urban architecture & history, her internal drive to pursue excellence, and her ability to ‘get into’ client’s heads to interpret their design vision.

Cindy MacKenzie, AKBD
In 2004 Cindy enrolled in the University of Calgary’s Visual Design Program and began working towards a career in Interior Design. In the fall of 2006, she joined the team at Rochelle Lynne Design, and has been there ever since. After attending her first NKBA event, Cindy jumped at the opportunity to join the NKBA family, becoming a member in the fall of 2007. In 2008, Cindy served as VP Communications for the Prairie Province Chapter, and is currently serving as Chapter Treasurer. In the fall of 2008, Cindy earned her Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer Certification with the NKBA, and is currently working towards her CKD requirements. When not hard at work, Cindy can be found fly fishing with her husband or camping with her sons.

Barb Henderson
Barb has always been interested in design and working with her hands. She has worked in fashion and tailoring, hair dressing and cosmotology, graphic arts and design, event coordinating and party planning, wood working and construction, but her love is in architecture and design. Taking something from paper and watching it grow into a home makes what she does all worth it. Barb started her kichen design career while investing in Real Estate in 1999. She purchased old homes, renovated them and gave them a new lease on life. Her first experience in design was with Totem Building Supplies in Edmonton for over three years. It was a great opportunity for her to work with amazing people and learning from her mistakes along the way. "Who knew an upper microwave cabinet shouldn't go beside an upper corner cabinet?" says Barb with a chuckle. She moved on to Delton Cabinet MFG in Edmonton where she has been for almost four years working with private home owners of million dollar projects. Barb adds that she is "Single, available, 37yrs young, not married, no kids, non-smoker, blonde..."

Pedini Is Turning Greener
Pedini kitchens who has been a green kitchen company for years, is now turning a deeper and a stronger shade of green.

For years, Pedini has been producing a green product—their box construction is made of 100% recycled wood and is formaldehyde free. In addition, all the wood veneer they are using comes from sustainable resources.

Now, the people at Pedini have gone a step further and upgraded their box construction.

One more very important factor in Pedini's on-going efforts to protect the environment, is the fact that they are also an eco friendly brand—unlike other companies that produce one or two 'politically-correct green' products, in a factory that also produces none-green products, Pedini produces green products exclusively. In addition, they are also adhering to environmentally friendly practices in their production line andin their entire production facilities.
