CERTIFICATION PREPARATION COURSES

Are you interested in becoming certified? — Edmonton

JANUARY 4-8, 2010
The Prairie Provinces Chapter of the NKBA is excited to announce that a certification preparation course will once again be offered in our area! This is a rare opportunity, not to be missed. (Note also that course prices are in US dollars, so take advantage of the strong Canadian dollar and register today!)

The course is set up so that you can participate in either the first three days, the last three days, or all five days, depending on which level of certification you are pursuing:

AKBD Prep Course (January 4-6) - $US489
A three-day course for aspiring Associate Kitchen & Bath Designers (AKBDs). This course offers participants a time-effective way to review the four domains of competencies and skills required of a certified professional: planning/design, construction/mechanical systems, business management and products/materials. You'll participate in a practice Academic Examination which reviews the knowledge base of design competencies and uses timed, multiple-choice challenges to provide participants with a measure of their mastery of the skills and competencies involved for the AKBD exam.

CKD Prep Course (January 6-8) - $US489
A three-day course for aspiring Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDs) and Certified Bath Designers (CBDs). This course focuses on the NKBA Guidelines and the Graphic and Presentation Standards; skills of analyzing client needs, specifying product, creating design solutions and project drawing and documenting in a timed environment.

Complete Certification Prep Course (January 4-8) - $US719
This intense, five-day course combines the AKBD Prep and CKD/CBD Prep for a complete week of review and preparation for both the academic and practical (design) portions of the NKBA Certification Examinations. This is an ideal program for anyone taking the academic and design examination on the same test date. You’ll develop your skills in answering questions with a sample exam, and become more efficient in designing and drawing a project under the clock
